Strategy and business review 2024

Erillisverkot updated its strategy in 2023. The updated strategy was published for the personnel in October and for customers and stakeholders in December. We wanted to analyse the strategy more thoroughly because of the major changes in the operating environment. The changing security context, more stringent economic development and accelerating technological development were important background factors. Finland’s membership in NATO also impacted the company’s willingness to update the strategy.

Operating environment 2024

The operating environment of Erillisverkot continued to be affected by a number of changes. Persistent megatrends are climate change and the crisis of the earth’s ecological carrying capacity, as well as the problems with democracy and the economy. Factors affecting working life include the diversification of working methods and the availability of competent staff. In addition, one of the most important drivers has been the strengthening of security and contingency and, on the other hand, the acceleration of technological development.

Sustainability report 2024

The business of Erillisverkot responds to society’s need to prepare for and build capacity for disruptions under normal conditions and for emergency conditions. Hence, the sustainability work in 2023 was still motivated by the Russian attack on Ukraine and preparedness for a potential energy crisis and power outages. We test the capability of our services and practice contingency regularly. Although the biggest fears of energy shortages at the start of the year were not realised, energy questions require constant vigilance, also because of the environmental targets.

Sustainability programme until 2025

The basic mission of Erillisverkot is to provide its customers with secure services that are free from disruptions and that increase security in society, benefitting all citizens. We produce the services in a manner that is sustainable environmentally, socially and from the point of view of governance.
