VIRVE in the hands of key personnel

There are 350 members of staff in the security organisation alone, and additional 150 people in traffic control. Naturally, there aren't enough VIRVE telephones for everyone, but at least we are able to reach the strategic key personnel through VIRVE.

Personnel are trained for each leg accordingly, such as the security manager, assistant security managers, stage managers, and security point attendants.
Nowadays the cars are being observed in real time on a large screen map. In case a car stops moving, the symbol representing it on the map turns red, the security manager receives the information and checks the situation.
Neste Rally Finland co-operates with the Emergency Services College in security matters. Additionally, we have two helicopters at our disposal, and fifty doctors work at the event, says Mahonen.
The people from the Emergency Services College are already well trained operators of VIRVE, but other users are trained separately. The VIRVE network has functioned outstandingly and our staff have learned to use the phones very quickly, commends Mahonen.
